With the 4th round of the V8’s at the Qantas Australian Grand Prix on the weekend, we may be witnessing some of the last seasons of V8 supercars as we know it. Motorsport is an expensive sport so there plan is to open it up to more manufactures not just Ford and Holden. The Current cars are that far from the road cars as we know them at the moment. They both have the same length body (shorter than the road versions) and they use a 5lt V8 even though the road versions now have larger capacity motors even thought the look like falcon’s and commodore’s they are basically the same car. By 2012 they look at taking this one step further, letting other manufactures compete and developing a more of an controlled chassis.
