2011 H.O.G. Geelong Toy Run – December 11
Geelong Harley Davidson 26/11/2011
The Geelong H.O.G. Toy Run is on again this year, on Sunday, December 11.
One of the biggest regional toy runs in Victoria, if not Australia, 2011 marks the 19th annual running of the event, which supports local Geelong charities: Cottage by the Sea; Geelong Hospital Children’s Ward; Bethany Family Services; and the Queenscliff Coast Guard. We’ve been involved from the very early days as the sponsoring dealer for the Geelong chapter of the Harley Owners Group, and are proud to be a part of it again this year.
As in past years, Geelong Harley-Davidson and the Geelong Harley-Davidson Owner’s Group (ie. Geelong H.O.G.) will be the hub of the ride. We’ll be collecting donations of toys, cash and non-perishable food items. You can drop your donations off with us (at 72 Mercer Street) in the lead up to the run, as well as on the day.
The ride leaves Mercer Street at 10:30AM heading through Geelong’s CBD and on to the Bellarine Peninsula. The ride halts in Portarlington’s main street between 11:00AM and 11:30AM, before heading on to the Queenscliff foreshore. A BBQ, the K-Rock radio van, raffles and more will be on display there between 12:00 Noon and 3:00PM. Donations can also be made at the Portarlington and Queenscliff stops on the run.
Last year’s ride was one of the biggest ever, with more than 1,500 bikes spread along virtually the entire length of Mercer Street before the start. We reckon this year’s will be even bigger, and invite all riders to be a part of it and support local charities.
If you’ve got any queries regarding this year’s route, contact Geelong Harley-Davidson on 5223 2102.
We look forward to seeing you in Mercer Street on Sunday, December 11.
