Following Casey Stoner’s shock announcement that he will be withdrawing from the MotoGP world championship at the end of the 2012 season, his rivals have responded.
Current MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner dropped a bombshell ahead of the French Motorcycle Grand Prix, announcing that the 2012 season would be his last in the premier league of motorcycle sport.

Chris Vermeulen has been confirmed as the replacement rider for Colin Edwards at the next MotoGP round in Le Mans, France on May 20. After almost three months of speculation over the future of Australian Supercross following the withdrawal of SuperX series promoter Global Action Sports in February, Motorcycling Australia (MA) announced on May 8 that International Entertainment Group (IEG) has been appointed to promote the series for three years, starting this year.
Raider Motorsport has recently been given the opportunity to sell a quartet of rare and highly desirable motorycles, comprising a Laverda SFC, Egli Ducati, Ducati 851 Kit Tricolore, and Ducati 900SS Imola. Raider will have exclusive rights to sell these machines only until Thursday, May 10.

Just as in the previous round at Assen, rain was a factor in round 4 of the World Supersport Championship at Monza. Despite no rain falling for the race, heavy showers beforehand made for tricky conditions on the patchy track.
