Seller's Description
One of the most desirable of all Indians. The Years of the 1930's Great Depression suppressed luxury motorcycle sales to tiny numbers which is why these Chiefs are so hard to find. Also reckoned to be the most aesthetically pleasing Indians the early Chiefs had full recycling oil pump systems (as opposed to a total loss oil system) Leaf spring front suspension and Pogo stick tractor seat for great comfort whilst riding. the rigid frame was light nimble and precise in its handling. The engine was 1200cc and it stayed that way until in 1950 Indian Motorcycles upgraded it to a 1340cc unit. This particular bike has undergone a nut and bolt restoration. it features the original white handlebar grips which were standard until 1937 on the chiefs. This has been matched with white floorboard rubbers and brake/clutch pedal rubbers as wella s white spark plug caps. The 6v generator features the cutout from a later Chief which makes for the best charging system. The entire restoration is of the highest quality. All nuts and bolts are correctly cadmium plated with a lot of the brake arms and ancillary parts tastefully show chromed. Even the Corbin speedo is correct for the year. In all just Gorgeous.
