Seller's Description
One of only 4-5 known survivors worldwide of the 70 Grey Fox models manufactured. As featured in the book Collectors Motorcycles of Australia by Stephen Shepherd. Believed to be in unrestored and original condition, it is far too good to restore. Some minor cosmetic repairs and touch-ups are visible if you look carefully. Tank top has a shallow dent (see pics)& My Father bought it about 40 years when the odometer read 1500 miles. It has been ridden in many Bay to Birdwood and club rallies and has an unblemished reliability record. Current mileage showing is 3488 miles which is believed to be correct as Dad had the cylinder off to replace cast iron valve guides with bronze items to prevent further instances of sticking valves when the machine was left unused for a year or so. Hone marks were faintly visible in the thrust faces of the standard unlined bores, indicating the mileage to be correct. Reliable coil ignition, no magneto to fail. Generator charges correctly. Everything works. The only non-original fittings are the South Australian manufactured Tilbrook mufflers which were fitted in the period when the factory was still in operation. Tool kit, Dunlop tyre pump grease gun, aftermarket manual, original sales brochure plus photocopies of period magazine test articles, letters from the manufacturer included.
