  • In the world of collectible motorcycles, no manufacturer can equal the broad-based desire of Ducati. If a list was compiled of every bike in every collection around the globe, it would come as no surprise to see Ducati as the most dominate marque, and there is no model more sought-after than the 1974 750 Supersport, better known as the Greenframe. Whilst there are many other bikes that are far rarer, and command much higher values, the Greenframe has become the ultimate trophy – no collection is considered complete if there is a Greenframe missing. The world’s obsession with Greenframes has driven their values beyond the reach of most enthusiasts and planted them firmly into the world of Van Gogh, Monet, and other examples of irreplaceable collectibles; owners of Greenframes are but Custodians, who enjoy ownership, safe in the knowledge that their investments enjoy year in and year out growth in value. Sadly many Greenframes are hidden away like pieces of valuable art, but for the true enthusiast, owning an asset that has out-performed almost every form of investment on earth runs a distant second place to the joy and exhilaration of riding one through the hills and byways – there is no other sound like that of bevel Ducati. This Greenframe is in the process of undergoing a meticulous, no-expense-spared restoration, and includes many technical improvements to remove known weaknesses and/or recognised flaws in the original engineering that lead to premature wear or fatigue of internal components. The photos you see in this add are of the Greenframe we completed early 2017, and shipped to Germany. These photos are to provide potential buyers with a facsimile of the quality and standard of workmanship they can expect should they wish to secure this particular Greenframe at today's market value, but in advance to completion. • Iso Autoveicoli S.p.A was an Italian car and motorcycle manufacturer from the late 1940s through the early 1970s. Mostly renown for the iconic Isetta bubble car of the 50s, and for a number of powerful performance cars in the 1960s and early 1970s. After WW2 the company reinvented itself to build motorcycles, scooters and motocarries (three-wheeled transport scooters/motorcycles). Among the most famous are the Furetto (1948), 'Isoscooter (1950),' Isocarro (1951), 'Isomoto (1954) and' Isosport (1953). The last Iso motorcycle was presented as the Iso 500 in 1961. Isomotos were known as expensive, but durable and well-built. This example is a 125cc Isoscooter with sidecar. The owner states it as being in very original condition. Photos suggest some minor paint work, but higher detail pics leave little doubt that the outfit has genuine patina to the engine, chassis and running gear. Presently located with our French agent. Built by a vintage Ducati Race Team in the late 1980’s/ early 1990’s. I purchased the bike from Anthony Whykes, of North Nowra, NSW, in April 2007. The bike was ridden regularly as a daily rider and provided many years of trouble free service. Build specification: Super Sport body work. Brembo twin disc front end with 18” alloy wheel. Drum rear wheel steel rim. 750GT engine. Electronic ignition. Rear sets. Super Sport kick starter (new). Conti exhaust. Vellichi Super Sport Frame. Koni rear shocks. The current owner has used and enjoyed this Ducati roundcase Sport replica for many years of trouble free riding. Excellent value for a roundcase, perfect to use as is or an ideal base for any Greenframe replica project. The 1974 Ducati Supersport, aka Greenframe, needs no introduction. This particular example is patina perfect for a bike that has travelled only 1,125 miles from new; that’s right, this bike has sat virtually untouched for over 40 years. Purchased new in 1975 from the Los Angeles Ducati dealer, the bike was loaded on to a truck and sat untouched in a San Diego hanger for over a decade. In 1983 it was delivered to the Ducati dealer in Chula Vista (San Diego) where it was commissioned for the first time. The bike was ridden briefly and then sat again for several years before a close friend of the original owner purchased it, and bar a few outing it has remained unused. The bike will need a good overhaul, clean the carbs and likely servicing of the brakes & master cylinders, but otherwise this bike is somewhat of a time capsul. In 1967 Ducati's successful 350 scrambler motor was selected for use in the new Swiss military motorcycle. At first plans were to just import the engine block but later plans were changed to import the whole engine, although there was some Swiss tinkering. The exhaust port and assembly was made more robust. The steel exhaust pipe and muffler were built to run almost silently and the whole assembly is sprayed with aluminium. The oil filler cap changed to a longer tube to make filling easier. Compression was reduced to 8.2:1 so that the bike could run on poor quality fuels. The result is a reliable engine that made only 16.6 hp, and run almost for ever. The forks were sourced from Marzocchi. Early models have Marzocchi rear shocks but later ones are fitted with Konis. Wheels and the 200mm drum brakes from Grimeca, which were considered adequate for use on the Alps. Both rims are the same but the front tire is a 3.25x18” and the rear is a 3.50x18”. The headlight and a few other electrical components were supplied by Bosch. A major difference between the Swiss bike and the Italian was rubber mounting the engine, a vastly different principal from Ducati’s stressed member design. The Ducati Condor was heavier but a lot smoother on the rider. One oddity is that the frame has a side-stand lug, but one was never supplied by the factory. The A350 comes with leather saddle bags and a few odd military accessories. One is the blackout light for night riding (replaced on this bike), and the other is mounts for two SIG 57 assault rifles. The side covers house a large air filter and spare bulbs and fuses in a foam block, and the other side contains a tool set, a lock, a cleaning brush, and goggles. Condor made 500 A350s in 1973 and when the production run ended in 1978, 3000 had been made, alas most have vanished over the years making this quite a collectible item, for bike and military enthusiasts. This Condor is in original patina and sits with our Italian agent. The 125C was the first model to have a rear shock and was only manufactured between 1950 and 1951. Although the marque was produced under license in many countries, the 125C was only produced by its creator, Ferdinando Innocenti, in the companies Lambrate (Milan) based factory. As the photo indicate, this example has undergone a beautiful restoration costing in excess of 5,000 euro’s (8,000AUD). The advertised price includes all shipping and arrival charges into Sydney. Yamaha released the YSR50 and YSR 80 in Japan in 1986. Designed as a scaled-down YSR500, the two models were instant hits in Japan and sold as fast as they could be delivered. The YSR was the first ‘mini-bike’ to introduce genuine sports-bike features like disc brakes and 5 speed transmission, and of course these, together with an excellent frame, led to them becoming ideal junior racing bikes. The model has proven one of Yamaha’s most successful novelty productions and was discontinued in 1992. Today it is very had to find these little bikes in original condition, and when they do they sell fast and attract premium values. In July 2016 an YSR50 sold on Ebay for 3,895USD and another with extensive corrosion for 4,000USD. This YSR80 is in original condition and only seen 2,766k's use. It has original patina and is available in as-landed condition. • 0 YAMAHA XS650 FOR SALE

    $19,500

Yamaha XS650 Custom built Cafe-tracker. Designed and built by renown San Diego custom bike builder Richard Pollock, of Mule Motorcycles, this bike is currently on Vic Club rego and done approximately 1,000k's since completion and arrival down-under. While basically an XS650, the engine has been bored to 750cc, forks are from a Buell M2 Cyclone, and the Swingarm is mid-’80's Yamaha’s Radian roadster. Helping to give the bike its unique hybrid style is an aluminum Storz café-style “bread loaf” fuel tank, originally intended for a Harley Sportster, the tank needed its tunnel heavily reworked to mate with the XS frame. Because the owner wasn’t enamored with the usual kicked-up flat-track tail, Pollock grafted a rear frame loop from a Wood-Rotax with its minimalistic, tightly drawn bodywork. Both tank and tail looking like they were destined to be together, are finished in a simple paint scheme, a pearl-white and maroon take on the old Yamaha racing colors. Artwork on the gas tank is the company’s classic tuning-fork logo as envisaged by Salvador Dali. A fabulous looking bike and far less than a third the replacement value.

  • 1988 VARKAIN IV FOR SALE

    P.O.A

The Varkain’s stealthy appearance is dominated by darkness. Having built several completely black bikes we prefer to sprinkle a modicum of contrast into the Varkain. Using polished stainless steel, chrome, zinc, charcoal and olive drab plating give subtleness and elegance, creating a distinctive separation from bikes that have been doused in pressure-pack cans of flat black. Look into the blackness and you’ll see multiple finishes ranging from the Matt Charcoal tank and guards, Satin black powder-coated frame, Matt-Black Hi-Temp Engine cases whilst the engine side cases are painted in 2-pack Gloss and hand finished to a mirror sheen. As with every Raider Custom bike we start with a bare fame; unwanted appendices are removed while strengthening of known weak points are added to bolster handling and longevity. Most builds include replacing older engines with fresh ones form the late 90/s/2000’s. Internal mods are performed along the way before everything is assembled with new stainless steel fasteners and all OEM ancillary parts polished and zinc plated. The assembled engine then receives a cosmetic make-over in black and the cylinder head fins machined to enhance that iconic Yammy thumper power-plant. In most cases the original CV carb is replaced with a Mikuni TM36. The TM benefits from havin an accelerator pump which, on these big singles, helps to make them jump off the bottom (throttle opening). For exhaust we have used several SuperTrapps, but when asked we also hand-built our own custom systems. Up top we fit one of our own custom seats, custom gauges, lights, blinkers etc, hand-made looms and regularly design/build our own LED warning light cluster. Whilst Australian road rules demand a front mudguard, we have our own 2 piece design that allows quick removal of the actual guard, thus allowing that true flat-track naked wheel appearance. The factory wheels are finished in black which accentuate the massive 4.50 Firestone tyres both ends. Raidermoto Customs are built entirely in-house & basic builds consume in the region of 120 hours, but most take 160 to 200 hours to produce. SR400/500 Varkain’s start at $16k AUD (excluding donor), so they’re not your average SR with a bit of bling. Raidermoto Custom Bikes are built to exceptional standards and quality – our creations are built for discerning owners who appreciate the elegance and craftsmanship of bygone eras. National and international bike magazines have referred to our builds as ``Raider Art``, acknowledgement for the fine detail and meticulous attention to detail that is afforded every project. Our bikes are created for owners who want something truly special, and truly unique, while the Varkain is for those wanting a little 'dark' in their lives. • MV Agusta’s ideology demands each new model be built to a higher specification than its precursor, and it’s this desire for perfection that led to the union of MV and the late, great, Ayrton Senna. MV president Claudio Castiglioni and Ayrton were close friends, and as a tribute to that friendship Claudio, working together with the Senna foundation, developed the blueprint for what would become a very limited production of the beautiful F4 750 Senna. Only two Senna editions were produced, the first released in 2002, then in 2006 the 1000cc edition; both editions were significantly different to all other F4’s. The Senna benefited from a much higher build specification and premium quality componentry, thus ensuring greater rider enjoyment and fulfilling the objective of both parties. Based upon the higher-spec SPR version, each Senna featured the same more powerful engine and stiffer chassis, with a special black-and-red colour scheme and silver numbered plaque. Benefiting from better internal components, stronger pistons and lightened crankshaft, the SPR engine has a higher RPM ceiling producing an impressive 109kW (146bhp). Externally that better quality continues with many chassis parts being replaced with lighter carbon-fibre, lighter alloys and magnesium. Other unique features include massive no-expense-spared 49mm diameter Ti-Nitride coated Showa forks with adjustable rebound/compression/preload, and a massive 40mm diameter quick-release axel. The ``drop-out`` axle allows front wheel removal with the release of the hinged retaining caps at the bottom of each fork leg. This excellence of design typifies the mutual desire of MV Agusta and the Senna Foundation to honour the Ayrton Senna legend, and all proceeds from the original sales were donated to the Senna Foundation, which still today cares for impoverished children in Brazil. Whilst the F4 Senna is a tribute to a legend, this particular example is also owned by a legend; Australia’s own multiple WSBK & AMA Champion Troy Corser. Troy received this F4 from Cagiva in March 2002, and as photos show has been part of Troy’s private collection. Retained in showroom original condition thanks to being parked in a custom-made humidifier, this is most probably the most original F4 Senna any collector will find. The bike has only 215k’s on the clock and is arguably the most original example of the limited build of 300 worldwide. This special bike is sold with a signed letter of authenticity, as well as a framed copy for display purposes, ensuring forever that build number 123 was supplied to Troy Corser.
