♦ one of the most original, lowest mileage Jaguar E-Types in the world ♦ former preservation class winner at Motorclassica ♦ documented service book and service history confirms the mileage as genuine ♦ Australian delivered factory RHD example ♦ three owners from new ♦ full books and tools ♦ still on its original Victorian registration ♦ a true collector car ♦ world market car Chassis 860900 has a build date of the 18th September 1962 and it was sold new by Melbourne Jaguar dealer Brysons to a Mr John Pope of North Caulfield (Melbourne), Victoria. The car was first registered as HRO799 on the 27th November 1962 and it still retains its original registration today. The car was used sparingly and sold through a dealer to its second owner on the 23rd June 1989. Like its first owner the second owner continued to use the car sparingly and keep it religiously maintained. The car passed to its current and third owner some fifteen years ago and it has travelled a token 1,000 miles in his care. Today the car presents and drives fabulously. To look at it one would reasonably assume this is a car that was ‘restored a few years ago’ ! Not so . . . it is an incredibly well maintained and preserved ‘time capsual’. Aside from minor paint touch ups this car has original paint and trim. The paint is excellent as is the all of the external trim, chrome and glass. Structurally the car is also excellent with no rust evident at all. Inside the cockpit everything is in amazingly excellent condition . . . the seats, door cards, dash and instruments. Even the carpets have stood the test of time! Given what this car is and its impeccable maintenance record not surprisingly it starts on the button and drives wonderfully well. This is one of the most original, lowest mileage Jaguar E-Types in the world. You would almost describe this car as a ‘new’ 1962 Jaguar E-Type making it a unique and incredible opportunity for the serious collector.
