Offered for sale after 31 years, this Old English White “Bugeye” has benefited from extensive performance upgrades. Utilising MkIII Sprite components this Bugeye now has front disc brakes, the stronger “Ribcase” gearbox and a 1275cc engine. The upgrades did not stop there however, with the 1275cc engine being rebuilt to a “Rally Tune” and bored out to 1310cc with the addition of a single 45 DCOE Weber to replace the SU and extractors to increase the engines performance. To further increase the performance, and aid in mechanical tinkering/servicing the Steel bonnet was replaced with a much lighter fibreglass example, hinging the opposite direction.
