Rolls-Royce released the “Twenty” in 1922 as their entry level luxury vehicle and was marketed as an owner-driver alternative to their much larger luxury model, the 40/50 Silver Ghost. The model featured a 3.1L Inline 6 cylinder engine which produced 20bhp. It had a top speed of 60mp/h however was dependent on which coachbuilder built the original body. This Rolls-Royce 20HP was delivered new to Melbourne, Australia in 1928. Originally it was optioned with a 4 door saloon body built by Barker Coachwork Company. In the 1990s the owner previous owner opted to improve the driving experience of this vehicle by removing the cumbersome saloon body and replace it with an all-aluminium roadster style body similar to the Silver Ghost of the period. This was professionally completed over a 4 year, $150,000 process. This is a genuine 1 family owned vehicle from new and was purchased from the grandson of the original owner.
