Seller's Description
An award winning, practical and very usable 1950s classic. This Buick is from an era when too much chrome was never enough, an era when cars oozed glamour and extravagance. It has a fully reconditioned 322 motor (5.3L) "Nailhead" V8. Nicely detailed, the engine is painted in Buick Turquoise topped off with alloy rocker covers and alloy spark plug covers. To make it reliable I have added a HEI distributer and electric fuel pump. I have the original parts that I have replaced, and some spares as well. The body has been repainted in the original Buick paint colours of Tahiti Coral and Dover White. All side glass and the windscreen, using the correct tint, has been replaced. Fitted with factory optioned power brakes, power steering and dual exhausts, as well as the standard dual ashtrays. The body is set off nicely with white wall tyres on chrome wire wheels. The exhaust has two sets of mufflers, one set to hear the rubble of the 322 Nailhead, and one set when you want to make a quiet getaway. Recently replaced kingpins, shock absorbers, and brakes. If you like chrome there aren't many better choices than this, over $7k spent on Chrome work The Buick has a Mother of Pearl steering wheel fitted which sets off the reupholstered interior. A very popular car for weddings, school formals and photo shoots. It is not concourse closer to 8/10, so it can be used as an everyday car without being too paranoid of where it is parked. Over $45K spent, plus numerous hours of work, it is priced sensibly so don’t waste your time with low offers, and no I am not interested in swapping for your 4wd, or fully sic air bagged Morris Marina.
