Seller's Description
The pioneer of perhaps the most iconic US sports car line ever produced, the Chevrolet Corvette C1 was first introduced in 1953 as a small two-seater open top sports car. It lent its styling of sweeping curves with lashes of chrome from its European counterparts and rolled it into a fibreglass body with a 235 cu in 4L engine. The vehicle was so popular in 1955 the engine was upgraded to a 265 cu in 4.3L V8 engine significantly improving performance. Towards the end of the C1 production many styling changes had occurred such as the quad headlights and the “duck tail” rear end. The engine had also received refinements. This vehicle presents with a 350 cu V8 partnered to a 4 speed manual transmission. It was imported into Queensland by the previous owner. The vehicle was resprayed in Australia in its original Jewel Blue over Ermine White with blue trim. The engine is reliable and has more power than the original smaller capacity 283 cu fitted at new. This example drives beautifully as it has been regularly serviced and maintained. *Test Drive and Viewing by Appointment Only
