Seller's Description
Alfa Romeo introduced their new flagship model, the 2600, in 1962. It was based upon its predecessor the 2000 of which it shared similar styling, chassis, instruments and trim. The major change was to the drivetrain with the new 2.6L I6 with twin overhead camshafts and 3 Solex carburettors. The Sprint was by far the most popular of the 2600 range as it found the right balance between comfort and performance wrapped up in a Bertone designed coupe, essentially that sweet spot that all ambitious GT cars aspire to. The engine produced 145bhp with a top speed of 200km/h. A total of 6,999 Sprint models were produced from 1962 to 1968. This beautiful 2600 has undergone some restoration, and with little work, would make a stunning example. Our factory right-hand-drive, matching numbers example runs and drives beautifully, and comes with receipts for restoration and maintenance work, tool kit and spare keys. The 2600 is a highly unique and sought-after model, and would suit any collection. *Test Drive and Viewing by Appointment Only
