Seller's Description
The Jaguar 420 is the final and best iteration of Jaguars 60's compact saloons. It was badged as both a Jaguar and a Daimler following Jaguars takeover of Daimler in the early 1960’s. This car is the Daimler version and is also quite a rare model with only 5000 made over the period 1967 to 1969. The high performance twin overhead cam 6 cylinder 4.2 litre engine mated to the Borg Warner 3 speed automatic gearbox makes this an easy car to drive in traffic. This together with the fabulous ride from the all independent suspension ensures pleasurable motoring. The 4 wheel disc brakes (a standard feature) provide great confidence when driving in traffic. Additional features include, chrome wire wheels, air conditioning, wood-rimmed steering wheel, head restraints, immobilizer, electric choke, power brakes, power steering, LED light conversion for all external lamps, tow bar (hardly used), child restraint mounting points, Inertia reel seat belts in the front and 3 point harnesses in the back. The body was restored in 2004 and taken back to bare metal. The paint colour is the original opalescent blue. This car is used regularly and has proven very reliable. It is a genuine working car, not a museum piece. The condition of the body is excellent, interior wood was refurbished in 2004 and is in excellent condition. Seats and interior trim are very good with a little patina as a result of use. It shows 87921 miles on the clock with the last 50,000 done in my ownership. A truly superb car that really stands out in a crowd. This car is priced to sell quickly at $32,500. A roadworthy certificate will be provided for the successful purchaser. The vehicle registration is paid for the next 13 months until Feb 2018.
