powered by a 6.3L 383cui ‘FirePower’ V8 Chrysler B-Series big block engine and driven by a Chrysler A-727 TorqueFlite 3-spd column shift automatic transmission. In 1966 the Space Race was peaking as the US & USSR strove to put the first men on the moon. The Dodge Polara name referred to the North Star, ‘Polaris’, in a marketing effort by Chrysler to associate the car with the excitement of the era. Three years after this car was manufactured, on July 20th, 1969, the US Apollo 11 mission landed the first humans on the moon. The Dodge Polara’s main competitors were the Ford Galaxie 500 and the Chevrolet Impala. One constant of these 1965 to 1968 Polara models was it’s taut, square-edged styling, which was updated each year; and from 1965 to 1970, the Polara would be the only full-sized Dodge available in the US as a convertible. This is a very nice older restoration convertible which presents in above average condition, with no rust issues, and has good original upholstery, chrome & glass. The convertible top is soft and is in good condition with no tears or seams stripping. Mechanically very sound, and with the heart of this car a 383 big block & 4-barrel Holley carburetor, this car runs & drives as it looks. If you are looking for something different to the rest, then give this Dodge some serious consideration. This car will be arriving soon from the USA and will be sold with the necessary Import Approval and unregistered. Finance is available TAP and Interstate Transport can be arranged upon request. 1970 Dodge RT 440 Challenger Matching numbers, 440 6 pack, R/T Challenger with build sheet… Opportunities like this don’t come up for us very often in Australia with the majority of our American Muscle cars being clones or replicas. I’ve just returned from America myself and a good 440 6 pack RT like this would cost you every bit of 80-90k usd and with the dollar like it is, GST and luxury car tax this is listed for well less than you could replace it for.
