Holden 1982 WB Panel van, This project is perfect for someone who has the time. All the hard work has been done. Just pick your colour and paint. The panel van is complete, except seats and carpet. perfect to make it your own. Engine is a 202 6 cyl with a 5 speed manual gear box with new clutch and pressure plate. I've put extractors on, a holly 350 2 barrel carby. 12 slotters mags, front are 6 or 7 inch. the rear are huge i think there 10 inch. Included is new second hand door trims, a brand new lock set ( doors and ignition ) I was in the process of removing the motor and box to change the engine bay colour to candy apple red which was going to be the colour of the exterior. PB 1985 first raced at Sandown in ATCC 1st outright and pole position. Symmons Plains 4th, Wanneroo 2nd Adelaide pole, 2nd outright, 5th was John Harvey, Surfers 6th with Larry Perkins. Lakeside 4th pole retired while 5th Oran Park 5th outright JH. 25 with John Harvey. 28 races mainly in the hands of JH includes two Bathurst 1000 Sandown 500 and Wellington NZ. When first launched it had Chev engine BMW gearbox, Ford 9-inch diff and Volvo calipers. It was homologated with a choice of gearbox M21, Getrag 5-speed, turbo 400 auto and Ford Toploader. A choice of diffs, also Ford 9-inch or Salisbury 10-bolt with many ratios. Later homologations included better valve gear and cylinder heads to take power from 360hp to 440/460hp for late â€˜85-â€˜86 and â€˜87 as Larry worked hard on the dyno. The car was always the best handling VK\'A\' - John Harvey. Apart from its competition history this car has had another life as well. It was used to promote the Blue Meanie extensively in print media because it was the first Group A car much detail about the Polariser was also attached to it. If you look in the plenum chamber on the left, you will see the 2 screw holes where the Polariser was fitted. Because the current owner has controlled this car for nearly 30 years, he can vouch for the lack of rust it has experienced which he believes is due to the Polariser. The owner still wishes Brocky were still here to show him as the owner laughed about the Polariser back in the 1980s along with many others. The advice given by Harry Firth to fit it and shut up would be Brocky\'s approach these days. Dave Whitehead, Brocky\'s secretary and gofer has filled in many of the details of this car\'s history and said it originally had about 360km in its first season. When the second car became available before Sandown in 1985 this car was passed to John Harvey for 27 races. John also became the carâ€™s entrant. The log book covering Brocky\'s driving was lost as MHDT imploded in the late 1980s but the racing records can be read in Raceyear 1986 No.3 and Australian Motor Racing Year 1985/86 No.15. Most of the original components were sourced for ex MDT staff as Brocky\'s bank accounts were frozen by the liquidators of MHDT. He paid them in components but all these parts were worn out and generally stuffed and unsuited to then regulations. It was rebuilt as a Club Car, Hillclimb and Rally Car. In order for the diff and rear suspension to survive, a Turbo 400 tranny was built and used for about 10 years. In its current life a Turbo 700 was fitted to allow a higher top speed with its 4 ratios. As the car sits now, it\'s a low maintenance, tough, capable competitor car but could easily be rebuilt to its originals spec for not much cost. The car has only has two owners, MHDT and the current owner. The owner has competed with it for about 25 years and has enjoyed owning it immensely. It is for sale now due to the ownerâ€™s age, not the cars age.
