At present, only 10 units of Lexus's $770,000 LFA supercar are in Australia. One of the Aussie owners has made sure his won't get mistaken for the other nine by wrapping it a striking chrome finish!

LFA number 304 - one of only 500 worldwide - is the first example known to receive the chrome treatment and will be revealed to the public at this weekend's Meguiar's MotorEx event at Homebush, Sydney. The chromed Lexus will join hundreds of modified, tuned and collectable vehicles at the annual event.

The chrome wrap was done by Exotic Graphix in Carrum Downs, Victoria. While Exotic Graphix have treated a number of street, race and custom vehicles to wrapped graphics and finishes, the chrome LFA represents one of the most striking - and expensive! - projects.

The Lexus LFA is a powerful and light vehicle, featuring an advanced Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) construction for the chassis and bodywork to deliver a light, incredibly strong and highly rigid structure. Sixty-five per cent of LFA's body structure is carbon fibre, while the remaining 35 per cent is aluminium.

At the heart of the LFA is a bespoke 4.8-litre V10 engine producing 412kW of power and 480Nm of torque. It propels the supercar to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and is capable of revving from idle to a redline of 9,000rpm in just 0.6 seconds. Top speed is quoted at 325km/h.
