Triple Eight Race Engineering will lose the backing of Vodafone at the end of the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship.

Roland Dane, owner of Triple Eight Race Engineering, is already in negotiations with potential partners to replace Vodafone as his team’s title sponsor.

Vodafone Australia confirmed that it will not be renewing its sponsorship when the contract expires at the end of the 2012 season.

Vodafone has been the major sponsor of Triple Eight Race Engineering since early 2007. They have enjoyed a very successful partnership with 68 race wins together including three Bathurst 1000 wins, three Teams Championships and three Drivers Championships. Vodafone & Triple Eight Race Engineering are in good stead to come away from the 2012 with even more success.

Both Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes re-signed with Triple Eight Race Engineering earlier this year; Lowndes for three seasons until the end of 2015 while Whincup re-negotiated his 2012 deal and extended his overall contract until the end of 2014.

We can only wonder what the next season will bring for the Triple Eight Race Engineering Team and look forward to seeing the new look livery once an new sponsor is signed.
