Seller's Description
Up for sale is my 1964 Ford Galaxie 500
I’m the second owner of this big old girl and she’s pretty neat all round.
The colour is ‘vintage burgundy’. It has had a repaint at some point in the same colour and is the best described as a driver with a couple of little chips here or there.
The chrome and stainless moulds are all there and for the most part, very good. The rear bar has a few dents and the side body moulds are straight. Other than the rear bar the Chrome is really nice. The chrome and stainless on the interior are also just as nice.
The interior is original and in fantastic condition, all the seats are in great condition with no tears, hood liner in near perfect condition, door cards are great with the exception of the top of the driver’s side where the original owner had been fat arming the shit out of this big girl. All the air/heat and fan controls work, lights and gauges work all round. The only thing not original is the dash cover, it has a replaceable tight fitting hard cover over it with the original pattern through it, without me telling you, you wouldn’t know the difference and the carpet is a little worn as well.
The engine is the original 5.8 litre 352 FE V8. Engine runs great, with great compression (available to see results on request) and is best described as strong yet original. Cruise O Matic auto (C4) that changes up and down when it should, 9 inch that you can’t break and also has power steer.
Cruises nicely on the road.
Tyres are thin whites with good tread left on them on 14 inch rims with the original full wheel hubbies.
Recently replaced;

Only spot of rust is in the boot, which is from the boot seal perishing. A common problem with the Galaxie’s and an easy fix.
All in all the car is a cool, clean driver/survivor car but the photos do the car justice.
Inspections are welcomed and encouraged so you know what you are buying, any photos you need or want can be sent and any questions feel free to ask.
Car is located in Brisbane in the inner north, can help with shipping at your cost.
The 1964 Galaxie was described by Ford as "a car bred in open competition and built for total performance". Ford offered the Galaxie 500 and 500XL in the sedan, hardtop and convertible body styles. Many consider the 1964 the most attractive Galaxie ever built. The 1964 Fords are also legendary for their racing history as many of the factory lightweight cars were used by the Ford Motor Company extensively on the race track. This racing experience gave these cars instant popularity that continues to the current day.
