Perentti Australian Built Classic, there was even one of these in the recent Mad Max Movie. Pre pollution 308 V8 and trimatic Engineered for NSW and Blue plated for QLD Current full NSW rego. Turn key, drive anywhere car. These are a very well made fibreglass body on a Holden HQ Panelvan/one tonner chassis. They were produced by Ski boat builder Bill Kain, whose company Revolution Fibreglass, built the very popular Hallett ski boats in Victoria in the early eighties. Around 300 were made, with 25 of those being T-tops like this one. This appears to be a factory assembled unit, bought as a complete car, from the factory, complete these were $25000 in 1984, twice the price of a Brock Commodore of that year. The Perentti thanks to its full chassis, does not suffer the squeaks and creaks of other fibreglass cars, the doors open and close like proper doors and the fit of all parts is absolutely spot on. Even with a stock V8 , the Perentti has and excellent power to weight ratio, and with the engine moved back 300mm and set lower in the frame has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The car handles beautifully, is comfortable and has power steering. Factory engineering and great looks.
Currently being registered in club rego. Out of rego at this moment. This car has had the RH front quarter panel resprayed, when I bought the car it was painted poorly. Has a thumbnail rust spot in rear C pillar. Has been garaged the last 14 or so years. Car came from rural Victoria. Motor runs well. Exhaust and muffler getting renewed on 31 Jan. Front seat - the stitching has come apart in the centre. Rear seat near perfect. Dash is excellent. Yes has the obligatory holes cut in the rear parcel shelf for speakers. No radio, hole for CD player. No I didnt cut that out. Drivers rear quarter a little rough. Overall this car has been awesome, just too many projects and something has to go. Retractable seatbelts in rear, lap belts in front. Original wheels to come as well as mags. Spare front brake components as well. Has a GPS if you have your phone in your pocket. I tried to work out how many miles the car has really done, it was either 395425 or 495425.
