Leisa Chinnock - 1986 XF Ford Falcon Victorian Hot Rod Show 2012 VIDEO
Description
A highlight of the 2012 Victorian Hot Rod Show, Leisa Chinnock’s ‘PSYCHO’ XF Falcon is about as wild as you can get! Lisa’s owned her car for 20 years, but its appearance at the Vic Hot Rod Show is far removed from the car she had two decades ago!
Starting as a stock standard 4-door Falcon sedan, the car was mildly-modified at first, including the installation of a V8 engine. Some other mods followed, and in that configuration, the car won a Top 20 place at Summernats in 2000.
From there, the custom mods kicked off, based around a sketch of a 2-door Falcon that served as inspiration. The changes included a 2-door conversion, roof chop, suicide doors, forward-hinged bonnet, custom front & rear bumpers and a fully-customised interior. Poking through the bonnet is a fully-detailed 351ci Ford V8 engine, which has been fitted with a supercharger.
A ‘Multi-State’ project, work on Lisa’s car was started in Tasmania with the roof chop and 2-door conversion, with the rest finished in Victoria, while the interior was done by a specialist in New South Wales.
Since completion in 2011, Lisa has shown the car at Sydney’s MotorEx show, and had taken it to events around the country. She’s planning to do more shows in 2012 before returning ‘home’ to Tassie and using the wildly-modified Falcon as a street car – to get “a little bit of fun out of it”!
