Seller's Description
STOCK1002 #764***AUTO - RWC - 12 MTH WTY ***
This 2008 Kia Rio is located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne 25 kms from the CBD.
While we consider reasonable offers be aware we have priced this car as competitively as possible so our price is fixed.
The Rio sedan fits the bill with a tick in every box — economy, safety, comfort and handling.
It is surprising how well the KIA Rio runs.
It is well built, with a good array of creature features, well-mannered road behaviour, a comfortable cabin, frugal fuel economy and satisfactory safety features.
UNDER THE HOOD
The 1.6 engine gets along quite well for such a small engine. At full belt, there isn't much noise at all. The cabin is very quiet. The four-speed transmission is smooth, without flaring or hunting.
•Engine Specs: 1.6 Litre DOHC; Power: 82.4kW @ 6000rpm Torque: 145Nm @ 4500rpm
According to Kia, the Rio uses 6.8 litres every 100km.
Surprisingly, there is not a lot of body roll from the McPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension; and the ride is very good for a light car.
A tight 10.1m turning circle makes it very manoeuvrable in shopping centre car parks.
INSIDE
The build quality is high and nothing rattled or squeaked. It has powered front windows..
Controls all fall to hand in a natural manner. You can immediately operate the sound, air conditioning and other controls without having to check the owner's manual.
It features a six speaker sound system, front power windows and mirrors, air con, 60/40 split in the rear seats, remote central locking, rear fog lights and a tilt adjustable steering wheel.
Cabin room is good for five adults with plenty of legroom and wide door access.
The rear seats fold down to provide a large cargo area.
The boot in the sedan is adequate, but has a flat floor with no suspension intrusion and is fully carpeted, unlike some competitors. And surprise, surprise, it has a full-size spare wheel under the floor, again unlike some of its opposition.
The Rio sets high quality standards with close and consistent panel gaps and paint quality is vibrant and lustrous.
SAFETY
Kia Rio scores a four-star adult occupant crash rating in the Euro NCAP tests; as well as two stars for pedestrian safety and a three-star child protection rating. It comes with dual front airbags, pretensioners and load limiters on the front seat belts and electronic brake force distribution.
VERDICT
The Kia Rio gives economical driving without having to cut too many corners on features.
