Seller's Description
Stunning Immaculate collectors grade Nissan Figaro - this is an original immaculate unrestored car - you will be the first Aussie owner -
We have hand-picked this Figaro in Japan from many others because it has travelled just 50,000 kms from new and is in superb original condition. The low Milage is supported by Japanese Road Ministry history checks and deregistration document that comes with the car.
Rust free and with still supple and clean original seats we suspect this Figaro has always been garage kept.
This Figaro is rust free and the air conditioning blows Ivey cold.
A good a Figaro is a superb and easy to live with classic car that is rapidly appreciating. The driving experience is relaxing (with super compliant suspension) yet zippy - the turbo charged 1.0 litre 4 cylinder engine is surprisingly responsive and she will comfortably sit on 120km/h uphill and down dale on the highway and is equally happy zipping around town.
The fold away roof is well designed and easy to store and is remarkably weather-proof.
This small car has a generous armchair-like driving position that is well suited to larger/ taller drivers as well as those of smaller stature and the rear seats allow 2 extra passengers in the back (these seats are tight for adults but perfect for kids or smaller people- bigger people can still fit but it’s tight!)
The Figaro has a boot in the back and a second boot in the rear when the roof is up.
The drive-train is very similar to other more common Nissan products - parts are still readily available from Nissan Japan (we use Castle Hill Nissan as a local parts supplier for the Figaro).
A Figaro is a smart classic car to own and drive for the following reasons:
- next year its eligible for $100 per year club rego - save $1000 per year - that’s cheap motoring!
- it’s a modern classic - so it’s reliable with fuel injection (easy to start cold)
- it has modern creature comforts (air and steer!)
- only one year of production (1991) so production numbers are limited - ensuring they are guaranteed to continue going up in value.
Fun Fact 1 - Japanese car buyers has to buy a winning Nissan lottery ticket for the right to purchase a new Figaro in 1991.
Fun Fact 2 - the retro styling is based on 1960s Italian microcars like the Autobianchi Bianchina convertible - hence the Italian “Figaro” name.
Fun Fact 3 - only 4 pastel colours were available - the colours of the 4 seasons - Lapis Grey (this one ), Pale Aqua, Emerald Green and Topaz Mist.....! (If you see a different colour - it’s a respray!)
All our cars are carefully workshop tested and inspected.
