The Elantra has been a quiet achiever for Hyundai.

While it may seem to be in the shadow of the Hyundai i30, as a small-to-mid-sized sedan, based on the i30 series, the 2012 Elantra does the job without any hassle and succeeds admirably.

Using more or less the same mechanical package as the much better known Hyundai i30 hatchback range, the Elantra for 2012 got a size boost compared with its predecessor. This gives it an extra 25mm of length but, crucially, an extra 50mm of wheelbase, making for one of the roomier rear seats in its class.
